An island town in the Kaveri river, and Tipu Sultan's capital. See the Ranganathaswamy temple, the Daria Daulat Bagh summer palace, the Gumbaz mausoleum and the spot where Tipu fell in 1799. Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary is nearby.
